Terms of use

Last updated 9 October 2026

Welcome to ForgeFilm, a community for sharing Fujifilm film simulation recipes. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use ForgeFilm.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live.
  • Give accurate sign-up details, and keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
  • Choose a username that isn't offensive, misleading, or impersonating someone else. Usernames can't be changed once set.
  • One person, one account. Don't create accounts to get around a suspension.

Photos: your own work only

Every photo you upload, including recipe sample images and your profile photo, must:

  • Be taken by you. Don't upload other people's photos, even with credit, or images copied from the web, social media, stock sites, Fujifilm marketing, or other recipe sites. Your profile photo can be any image you have the right to use.
  • Actually show the recipe. Sample images should be shot with the recipe's settings, so people see what it really looks like.
  • Respect the people in them. Don't post photos of identifiable people in private situations without their consent.

Keep it tasteful

ForgeFilm is a family-friendly community. You must not upload or post:

  • Nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit or sexually suggestive content, including artistic nudes.
  • Any sexual or exploitative content involving minors. We report it to the authorities.
  • Graphic violence, gore, self-harm, or cruelty to animals.
  • Hateful, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory content.
  • Content promoting illegal activity.
  • Spam, advertising, or links unrelated to the recipe.

This covers everything you post: photos, recipe names and descriptions, collections, usernames, and your "About me". We decide what crosses the line, and we may remove content that doesn't fit the spirit of the community even if it isn't listed here.

Recipes and credit

  • Share recipes you created. If your recipe is based on someone else's, say so in the description and credit them.
  • Don't repost other creators' recipes as your own.
  • Some recipes on ForgeFilm are featured from other photographers and link back to the original source. If you are the original creator and want a recipe credited differently or removed, contact us.

Who owns what

You keep ownership of the photos and content you post. By making content public on ForgeFilm, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, display, and distribute it on ForgeFilm and in promoting ForgeFilm (for example, featuring a recipe on the home page). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies already cached or shared may take some time to disappear.

Other members may view public recipes and try them on their own cameras. That's the point of sharing. They may not copy your photos elsewhere without your permission.

The ForgeFilm name, logo, and site design belong to us.

Paid content

Some recipes may be offered as premium content. If you buy access, it's for your personal use. Don't republish or share premium recipe settings. Pricing, payment, and refund terms will be shown at the point of purchase.

Reporting and enforcement

If you see content that breaks these terms, including a photo that you believe is yours, contact us at [email protected] with a link to it. We may remove content, hide it from public view, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with or without notice. Serious or repeated violations, especially uploading someone else's work or explicit content, will lead to a permanent ban.

Other things you mustn't do

  • Scrape, bulk-download, or copy the site's content with automated tools.
  • Try to break, overload, or get around the site's security or limits.
  • Access other people's accounts or private content.
  • Manipulate favourites, badges, or rankings, for example with fake accounts.

Send to camera

Send to camera is an optional feature that writes a recipe's settings into a custom setting slot on your camera over USB, straight from your browser. Whether you use it is entirely your choice. Every recipe also lists its settings, so you can always enter them on the camera by hand instead.

  • Not a Fujifilm feature. It talks to your camera over USB in a way Fujifilm hasn't publicly documented and doesn't support. Fujifilm hasn't reviewed or approved it.
  • Tested, but not guaranteed. We've tested it extensively on many Fujifilm camera models, and every setting it writes is read back from the camera and verified. On that basis we believe it is safe to use. But we can't test every camera, firmware version, computer, browser or cable, and a future firmware update could change how a camera behaves.
  • It replaces what's in the slot. Sending overwrites the custom setting you choose. Note down anything you want to keep first, because we can't restore it.
  • Windows driver change. On Windows, it needs a one-time driver change that you make yourself with third-party software (see the FAQ). Making that change is also at your own risk.

By using Send to camera, you accept these risks and agree that you use it at your own risk. ForgeFilm accepts no liability for any damage, malfunction, lost settings or data, or other loss arising from its use, whether to your camera, memory card, computer or anything else, including any effect on your manufacturer's warranty. This applies to the fullest extent the law allows and, like the rest of these terms, doesn't limit rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Not affiliated with Fujifilm

ForgeFilm is an independent community and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FUJIFILM Corporation. Fujifilm, film simulation names, and camera model names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe compatibility.

No warranties

ForgeFilm is provided "as is". Recipes are shared by the community, and results vary with camera, firmware, lighting, and subject. We don't guarantee the site will always be available or error-free, and we're not responsible for changes you make to your camera's settings. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Closing your account

You can stop using ForgeFilm at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We may also suspend or close accounts as described above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as ForgeFilm grows. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let you know on the site or by email. Continuing to use ForgeFilm after a change means you accept the updated terms.
