Kodak Portra 800 v3 (Adjusted)

byForgeFilm· Published Oct 4, 2026

Fujifilm X-T5X-Trans V

A bright adaptation of the original Kodak Porta 800 v3. The colors feel rich but still gentle, and there’s this quiet, tropical softness that I can’t get enough of, especially as the light starts to fall.

About this recipe

Bright and warm feeling looking, perfect fit for spring and summer days. This film simulation recipe produces rich contrasts that pop and the light play between highlights and shadows is pretty dramatic.

We mostly shot with this recipe on X-E5 as we explored the Sydney City during a lunch time walk. With the fixed white balance temperature of 6600K you are going to see more yellow highlights and shadows, however with the R/B shift it pushes the overall tone of the images towards hint of green colour cast. It is very subtle.

Adjustment from original recipe found at FujiXWeekly is that the clarity slider has been dialed up which creates high contrast in the details making them pop rather than muted if the clarity was the other way.

The grain added creates a very rich film look with vibrant colours.

Exposure compensation can be adjusted from +1/3 to +1 1/3 this will open up the shadow areas further
